Born and raised in Hanoi, Hung Giang Nguyen graduated from the Vietnam University of Fine Art in 2021. Since 2018, Hung Giang has founded and operated Tinh Dau Studio, where various independent art activities for young artists take place. The painting Lao Chai depicts a peaceful village in Lao Cai with the wet-on-wet direct painting technique. The random clothes drying in the sun along the stream allude to the daily life of the native people. Located about 7 km from the Sapa town, visitors to Lao Chai can explore the idyllic life of the ethnic people among the valleys, mountains and typical terraced fields.
