Xuan Anh Vu is from the Muong ethnic group. He graduated from the Faculty of Painting of the Vietnam University of Fine Art in 2014. While living and working in Hanoi, Xuan Anh’s creative path is full of topics about rural and highland landscapes. Xuan Anh stated that he had always preferred to draw from life because of his direct and painterly technique. During his travels, the artist delves into the human life, nature, and cultures of the various regions and seeks for the authentic emotions to be brought into each work. Beyond oil paintings, Xuan Anh also creates incised lacquer paintings and has two such pieces on display in the gallery space on the sixth floor.
