In order to create a space connecting art with nature with an indigenous architecture through the delicate lines of European sculpture, meritorious artist Pham Hong Vinh – a leader in Vietnam in the field of sculpture Glass carving has made great efforts to create large works of up to 48m2. This will be an unprecedented event space, art exhibition in Vietnam.

The seventh-floor space is surrounded by four fixed windows (the size of each window: 3,1 x 2,1 m), two doors (the size of each door: 3,1 x 2,1 m) and a wall panel (3,1 x 1,2 m). The large, seamless coloured-glass panels are arranged in the order of rainbow colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue.

Stained glass is not an unfamiliar material for tourists to Sapa because those who come here cannot overlook the mysterious glass windows of the Stone Church. The distinctive feature of the coloured glass set at the 1618m Gallery is the colouring technology that combines glass and enamel on super-durable tempered glass. What is even more special is that the modern design is geometrically abstract based on the traditional patterns of the H’Mong people, emphasising the striking shapes of rhombus and spiral. In addition to the Cat Cat Galerie d’Art Hotel logo, viewers can encounter meaningful symbols such as pang tro (the food tray), symbolising the family reunion in the Blue H’Mong culture.

Be it day or night, the 1618m Gallery’s coloured glass decoration always arouses excitement and imaginative comparisons for everyone. The painter Nhat Vu Trinh, who has had many opportunities to examine the coloured glass set since its early days of completion, shared: “The coloured glass is a highlight when looking at the 1618m Gallery at night. The light emitted from that reminds me of the light from the cooking fire shining on the traditional costumes’ patterns of the H’Mong people.”

The Merited Artisan Hong Vinh Pham (Ha Noi, b. 1961) made the set of coloured glass using the design which had the cooperation of the art consulting team. He named the coloured glass set The Mountain Light and said: “This is a set of artistically engraved glassworks with glue chip technology that is thoroughly made for a modest but beautiful architecture on the mountain in the tourist area Sapa. With the colourful stylised patterns of the Northwest, the set looks like a forest flower from afar, and at night it is like a monumental spectacular mountain light.” Along with the Four Seasons collection of the 1618m Gallery, The Mountain Light is an unforgettable mark that brings Cat Cat Galerie d’Art the status as Sa Pa’s unique fine art hotel.
