Nhat Vu Trinh is an alumnus of the Vietnam University of Fine Art, born into a family with a tradition in lacquer art in Hanoi. However, his style and painting technique are mainly influenced by his childhood experiences and independent studies rather than his family background and education. The young artist revealed: “At different times in one’s timeline, perhaps each person has a particular obsession with a certain subject. What has fascinated me over the past ten years is light-time-colour; these three concepts can be one. I employ the art of painting to preserve my emotions and feelings for those. In the constantly changing rhythm of day and night, light and dark, there are various levels of warm and cold colours. I feel blessed when I count on that steady rhythm, like the feeling of drifting in an eternal flow.”
