A vibrant Sapa as seen from the Cat Cat Galerie d’Art Hotel’s interior

From the North to the South, the hotels showcasing large fine art collections worth mentioning are Apricot Hotel in Hanoi and Hôtel Des Arts Saigon in Saigon. Cat Cat Galerie d’Art Hotel is also an art hotel; despite its later establishment, it has its own differences and highlights. For the first time in Sapa, a four-season-themed contemporary art collection assumes the role of the protagonist, taking centre stage of a public space and is the prime attraction for hotel guests.

Not only does Cat Cat Galerie d’Art Hotel have the Northwestern Palette series to decorate the rooms, but it also houses 29 artworks by 15 contemporary Vietnamese artists. Among them are commissioned works, creating opportunities for young artists to tackle challenges and demonstrate their talents. Highlights include works by promising artists of the 9x generation, such as Thanh Huong Doan, Nhat Vu Trinh, Van Thuc Cao, Hoang Dung Nguyen, Hung Giang Nguyen and Ngoc Nam Tran.

The main lobby, corridors, the seventh floor, and the restaurant are all 1618m Gallery spaces designed to celebrate works of art – with paintings, sculptures and coloured glass emerging one after another. Beginning from the main lobby all the way to the restaurant, visitors can explore many distinctive materials and styles such as the oil and acrylic paintings by Thang Vu and Van Thanh Pham; the wood sculpture by Nhu Y Nguyen; the incised lacquer paintings by Xuan Anh Vu and the lacquer paintings by Viet Cuong Chu and Van Sy Nguyen.

With this unique and quality collection, Cat Cat Galerie d’Art is not simply a gallery displaying aesthetic items to attract art lovers and aficionados. What is more important is to create a cosy and friendly space so that anyone can feel things in their own ways. What can visitors feel here? Keep calm and feel the soul of the artworks, of Sapa, of the highland four seasons,… at an altitude of approximately 1.618 metres.
